Laura Collins Band | | The Laura Collins Band delivers what Laura likes to call ‘Ballads and Blues from the Back Porch’.
You can expect a mix of Laura’s originals that have ‘back porch’ heart, alt-country covers from the likes of Lyle Lovett, Gillian Welch and Blues spanning John Lee Hooker to Bonnie Raitt and Keb Mo.
The trio at the foundation of this band involves George Barris, a seasoned bass man whose early fame dates back to the days of “Highway” and Matt Newman, originally from Portland Oregon, who brings a wealth of experience and great country-blues pickin’.
They are often joined by the fabulous Al Norman on blistering piano accordion and Paddy Burgin on Weissenborn Slide Guitar.
The band has a relaxed, warm acoustic sound with upright bass and acoustic guitars, you’ll feel like you’re hanging with them in the lounge or cruising in the sun on the back porch. |
